Geology 101 - The Secrets Behind Ancient Montana!
The Boulder Batholith
Now we must discuss the geology of the area where all the "Megaliths" can be found and only found with in the Boulder Batholith. Now it would remiss of us to claim that there are "Dolmens" found outside of the Batholith but they are not! Coincidence, we think not.
The Boulder Batholith is a break away chunk of the Idaho Batholith. 70-80 Million years ago it separated from the Idaho Batholith and moved 100 miles to the east and came up in Montana with the Elk Horn Mountains. All of this area was extremely volcanic and the Batholith pushed large shallow boulders to the surface covered in magma which quickly cooled.
So these formations have been here since this area was part of a massive inland lake named ..... This has given these huge outcroppings 70 million years to erode and be effected by Ice Ages, The Extinction of the Dinosaurs, 70 million winters, 70 million years of floods, earthquake's, etc. So mother nature has plenty of time to create and destroy the amazing formations we see today. Erosion has taken its toll on them as we see in many cases.
It has been claimed that the sluffing off of the granite from erosion is a geopolymer that cements the formations together. We sent three samples to three separate entities for analysis. Carrol College Geology Department, New Jersey University, and Forensic Geologist Scott Wolter. All three came back as weathered granite and in no way a man made geopolymer! Disproven!
In fact we call on all researchers in this are to revile there sources and scientific information of the supposed Montana Megaliths! If knowledge is being with held no advancement can be made in this field.
It must be stated that in all our travels from Sage Wall to Tizer Dolmen that we have NEVER found and signs of construction! No blackened ceilings from fire, no chisel or tool marks, no petroglyphs or pictographs, basically no signs except the structure themselves to wonder over.
We make no wild claims of geopolymers, flash petrification, aliens, giants, or extremely old and advanced civilization to be the constructors. Instead we focus on using geology and the known studies of the Boulder Batholith to see if we can attribute some of these to people or just 70 million years of nature constructing these.
